    Planted 9 Gallon Tank

Ended up getting a bigger tank and cycling it with seeded material from my main tank. Got plants in and 10 neon tetras and 6 harlequin rasboras as well as 2 sterbai Corydoras. Also got myself a led light specifically for the plants growth. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Rainbowfish Feeding

One of my reds just had an argument with the rainbow shark over food, made himself nice and red!

    Limestone Rock for Tank

I've heard that too..I was considering doing it outside on a camping stove. If it does blow up it could be interesting.. But I agree that it could be tried and then taken out if it's causing weird water parameters.. Also, our water pH is already high straight from the tap..so the limestone...

    Rainbowfish Feeding

Hey guys, Hopefully I don't double up threads, I did a search with no results, so hopefully all is good! I've got a group of Rainbowfish (5 Reds, 1 Goyder River and 2 Dwarf Neons) and I'm wondering if I'm feeding them right! I feed them every morning with tropical flakes, and they eat the...

Fast Moving Water with Red Rainbowfish

Do you feed your rainbows live food at all? If so, what do you feed them? I've been feeding mine frozen brine shrimp and bloodworm which the Corys and Rainbow Shark like as well, but they once got some guppy fry (before I could rescue them) and were so happy having to work a bit for food...

Fast Moving Water with Red Rainbowfish

Thanks! I've found that when you pour water in they get so excited and have to sit in the current! I agree with the feeding thing as well! They go into an absolute frenzy! Also, thanks to catfish guy for clearing it up that they like the water, it's been like that a couple of days and they've...

Fast Moving Water with Red Rainbowfish

I've just been mucking around with my filter in my tank and taken the long tube with the holes off so the water just comes straight out. It creates pretty fast moving water in one half of my 3 ft tank. I'm just checking this is okay with my Red Rainbows and my one Neon Rainbow? The corydoras...

    Limestone Rock for Tank

I'll have a look and see if it's the crumbly stuff or not. I think it's what you'd call cap rock and had to be dug up by a 40 tonne digger. If it's the same as what was removed when we put in our pool, it's ridiculously hard. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Limestone Rock for Tank

Hi all, I live in an area where you physically can't dig a hole deeper than 10 centimetres without hitting limestone. Can I use this (after washing in really well and maybe even boiling it) in a tank with electric yellows? There's some really interesting rocks that have been dug up whilst...

    Sick Goldfish Help

The tank isn't heated, but our house is 90% of the time. As for the size of them, they've been fine up until now and when they get bigger, they'll move to the pond. I've started treating for cotton mouth with some stuff from the pet shop, and the last goldfish seems to be getting better! So...

    Sick Goldfish Help

Hi Roz, Thanks for your reply! I think it's a 12 gallon tank. Not 100% but it wouldn't be much more. I've just tested the parameters myself and it's looking good! I'm using an API test kit. Ammonia is: 0.10 ppm Nitrite is: 0.15 ppm Nitrate is: 30 ppm pH is: 7.4 The Bristlenose have been...

    Sick Goldfish Help

Hi there, My brothers goldfish recently started showing signs of an unknown sickness. The pet shop tested his water and his ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels are all perfect, he does his 40% water change once a week and keeps the tank clean. These 3 goldfish had been fine for months until...
