Apistos do fine in a ten gallon tank unless they start to breed and become more territorial. Then a larger tank at least twenty gallons in size would be better.
Apistos are beautiful fish and they aren't necessarily difficult to care for. Just like a lot of species the water quality can make the biggest difference in keeping them successfully.
I like the betta , could have a school of girls they can be lovely like the boys ... also like pygmy cories,... I have 8-9 gallon tank with one male betta two pygmy cories and a pitbull pleco
