The one filter has been running for a couple of weeks so it has a colony off bb but the other doesnt so i will give it about a week to get a colony going. Then i will go to the lfs.

I guess stacked is the wrong term, just putting them in random little groups at different angles. Here's a picture of my tank to kinda give you an idea what I'm talking about.

O ok. Ya thats pretty cool. I like having a LOT of open space for the bigger fish to swim around but some hiding spots for the smaller ones. I think i will probably find a stump to put in and that will be it.

I went out this morning and found river rock for my 180. I am so ready to get this thing in the house I can't stand it.

Lol. I would get more rocks but i have to fill up a 5g bucket then carry them up two 20 ft banks then 200ft to my house lol

I have a question. The tank is 6' long and has no braces. It is older so i expected that but what kind of top can i use for it??! I looked everywhere and they all need a center brace.

My 180 is an old tank with no braces. I got some acrylic panels from home depot and use them for my tops. I used one peice to cut in a 3" strip and siliconed it in the middle of the tank for the brace and the other peices rest on it. Rather easy to do. The acrylic panels were rather pricey though. I did get thick ones though so they wouldnt bow.

Thanks. Im going with open top. Ill see how that goes lol. If it doesnt work im going to build a center brace and get a 72" versa top.

Yeah getting mine was a hassle, but the over all look will be worth it.
