5 Gallon Stock

I have an old 5G that I'm cycling right now, and I was wondering what I could stock it with? I definitely don't want to overstock. All suggestions are welcome, the only thing I don't want is a Betta, because I've already had a few of them, and am looking for something new.

Sparkling Gouramis, licorice Gouramis, and honey Gouramis are great options,

Would I be able to keep one Sparkling Gourami on its own without it getting lonely? And could I keep it with some ghost shrimp?

Yes. All of those fish can be kept alone and with glass shrimp

5 shrimp should be good. You could add more after a few weeks
