My water has been pre-cycling for about 2weeks now, I've got the salinity right, and cloudiness has gone. I bought a ph inaction test, but when I opened it up the colour paler only went up to 7.6. So when I tested water it showed 7.6.. Do I have to add ph buffer before i add my LR? Or can I do this after I've added my LR (and substrate)?

Thanks

Saltwater ph will need to be tested in the high range since it should be about 8.2 so your current test is maxed and can't show any higher. When cycling a SW tank you wanna add all your LR and substrate in the beginning since the LR is your main source of bio filtration ( the reason you cycle the tank) so with out it you haven't accomplished anything yet other then correcting the salinity. I highly reccomend you get an api SW masterkit to test your parameters and a refractometer instead of a hydrometer since accuracy and stability are key in SW
