Hi All.....Is it ok to have driftwood in with the rocks for African Cichlids? Specifically the rock dwelling Mbuna Demasoni Cichlid. Thanks for any input y'all have on this.:thanks:

Agreed with driftwood dropping the pH. But it only slightly dropped mine, went from 8.2 to 8.0. I know a lot of people don't like driftwood in AC tanks, as it's not exactly prototypical but I like the look of it in mine. I've had it in there nearly a year without any problems, and the fish seem to like it as one of my Mainganos has staked it out as his area.

I keep two large pieces of driftwood in my 55G AC tank and they all seem to enjoy it and havn't had any issues. They say that driftwood will lower PH levels in my experience it didnt do that much to my PH levels maybe .02-.03 at best

Hi all, yes angelfish sounds like a good fish to have with swordplants. Good luck.
