Algae problem

I have a fish only tank with live rock and am beginning to have an algae. I need to know what to do because I have a dwarf puffer fish and will most likely eat any invertebrates

How old is your tank? - it's normal for a new tank to go through a diatom cycle. Diatoms looks like brown dust.

What does the algae look like?

If it is diatoms I went through the same thing the best things for it are hermit crabs and sea urchins and snails you can also get a magnetic cleaner for glass and clean it your self it's annoying but it will soon go away but for know get hermits an snails..

Be careful adding a cleanup crew to take care of your algae. You mentioned you had a puffer - it could turn out to be a very expensive dinner for him

Oh ok, thats it then. It's brown spots I guess I could use a magnetic cleaner then
