I have a 10 gallon planted tank with 11 neon tetras and lots of really small snails. I noticed today while doing a water change that I seem to have some kind of hair algae starting to show up. It's a really dark green, almost black and was on the uv sterilizer and on some of the plant leaves. My original plan for this tank was to add some cherry shrimp but I haven't done that yet. I read today that cherry shrimp are good for controlling hair algae and was wondering how many I could keep in my tank. Also, what would be a good ground cover plant to keep in there to give them more hiding spaces and stuff to hold onto? Right now I just have a couple java ferns in there.
