ammonia and plants

Will the ammonia I'm adding to cycle my tank kill live plants if I add some?

Actually .. plants can use ammonia for nutrients just like nitrates.

Thanks, I put in a bunch of live plants in my cycling tank. I didn't want to have them all get killed.

Ammonia turns to nitrites from bacteria, then to nitrates the least harmful of waste.
Plants absorb nitrates

Plants use N... whether its NH3, NO2, NO3 doesn't matter... its all N

Just added a bunch of new plants to the tanks. I've almost removed all of the fakes plants at this point. Forgive all of the crap floating in the water, I need to get in there and vacuum. Stirred up a lot of junk putting the new plants in.

Well here they are, so far.
