Ammonia High in QT

I am treating my 29 gallon QT tank with copper for my hippo tang that has ich. My ammonia keeps jumping up I guess because of the copper killing the bacteria, I was wondering if there was a treatment to keep the ammonia down. I do 5 gallon water changes everyday and all the rest of my levels are fine. So if anyone can help me that would be great. Thanks

you could try "prime".

you could use hyposalinity to treat the ich no chems involved

Amquel usually locks ammonia nitrite and nitrate overnight but it's only temporary so you would have to keep dosing
