Will a bio wheel filter out the chemicals I put into the tank? ie. Stresszyme to lower the nitrites? or Acid Regulator to lower the Ph? Will my bio wheel make those chems useless?
carbon or activated charcoal is what you need to filter the chemicals. But it will not mess with your stresszyme or regulator. You are safe.
If you find the ph bouncing back up then join the club. This is the gh buffer. It is best not to use those acid based snake oils. let the fish adjust to your water or get fish better suited to it.
If you really have to have a lower ph then try adding some ro water. That has threads that talk about it already.
Most filter cartridges have carbon. It becomes inactive after a few weeks.
Do not use chemicals to change or regulate the water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, pH, etc). The natural way is best. To get ammonia, nitrite or nitrate down, water changes are the best.
What are your current water parameters?
