At Long Last.... Sydney's Rimless Tank Build!

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!

I think it will look nice. Are you still on keeping the tank filled all the way? Most ripariums I've seen are usually only like half-filled.

Here is the cheapest price I found for the Zoomed 501.

You could get some floating planter things like this (this isn't my picture)

You could probably do something simple like this and still have plants underwater (again, this isn't my pic)

You could even use those suction cup shower things.

If you get a canister filter you could always DIY a Hob for the outflow of the canister and make it as long as your tank to fit more plants. All you would need is a long trough with pebbles to root the plants in. Filtration can take place in the canister and the riparium is just a growing chamber for the plants. You could even make the rim for your Hob Riparium like a DIY stone background that would look like a waterfall flowing into the tank if you wanted to pretty it up. You can buy cans of styrofoam type spray that could be used reasonably well. I'll see if i can find the link for a tank that has used the cans to create some caves so you can see the image and get an idea of what i am talking about, and how you might go about making it.

I received my substrate yesterday I pretty excited lol

Woo H00! Scottyhorse is cooking now! It's planting time.
P.S. I spread the AR mini out so they can develop better leaves and color up more. I'll ship you yours in about two weeks. After you get your layout in, let me know how big the area is you plan on putting them in. I'll send you enough to fill it in.
OS.

Eco complete will get here in an hour or two! Will be posting a few pics of possible scape plans so you will need to help me pick!

Just one word of caution, not sure if this was already mentioned, but be ultra careful with EC in a low iron high clarity glass tank. Those little EC lava rocks can easily scratch the glass. Low iron makes the glass a little more susceptible compared to the regular glass. I've scratched one tank by accident because my algae scraper accidentally picked up a granule when I was scrubbing close to the substrate. Needless to say, the scratch stuck out like a sore thumb when everything else was crystal clear. :(

Tank is scaped, planted, and filled. Teaser pic ;)
I know, I'm terrible. :p

Some actual pictures.. Sorry for being late, we went and watched the film 'The Book Thief'. Was a truly beautiful movie, but quite depressing at the same time. You laugh, you cry, I for one did not stay dry eyed through the whole thing. And that says a lot. I just found out that there is a book the movie was based on. If the movie was this good, the book has got to be absolutely brilliant. If you haven't already, go see it. And then buy it when it comes out on DVD. Okay, enough with my movie review, here are some cloudy pics I took before we left. Excited to see it fill in, hopefully it does.
