Hi,

I recently added 4 GBR's to my main tank. I wanted to move the Apistogramma Cacatuoides from that tank back to the small holding tank the GBS's were in (1 male 2 female).

I managed to catch the male and one female, but no matter how hard I tried I couldnt get hold of the last female.

I've now stuck all the hardscape and plants back in so am not really up for another 2 hour game of chase the dwarf cichlid. Especially one so damn good at hiding.

Anyone got any good tips on catching those tricky occupants?

Especially relating to planted tanks.

Thanks,

John

You could try the soda bottle trap.

Works well, just keep a close eye on the tank the entire time.

Once, a long time ago, I was not paying attention and one of my GBR's wandered into it with a yo-yo loach. Needless to say, within 30 minutes I ended up with an eyeless GBR and my breeding pair destroyed.
