Don't worry your just having a cycle just leave it and in a few days it will be down and your cycle will be over

I'm still up at 8 ppms but I got some nrites I'm up at .25 ppms. The cycling is a cycling

It would depend on what you're fragging and how big they are.

Here are my readings the amm dropped from 8.0 ppms to 2.0 ppm like over night. My rites are up at 5.0 ppm. And it looks like the rates are somewhere between 20 to 40 ppm. Cycle is going soo fast!

And what is this purple stuff on my live rock? I noticed it the other day. And its not on my other rock.

Coraline algae maybe? The reason I want a reef tank is actually because this algae looks so neat haha

Hey rich6459 how did your tank get into the 90s? No air conditioning? As far as not being able to get a clown thriving in anything under then 20 gallons is just not true? I've have 2 black percula clowns in a 14 gal bio cube going on 4 years now and they are happier then 2 pigs in a mud blanket. You should have gotten the 14 gallon (more possibilities). With your size one fish would be it and not a big one either.
