Body scratch - red tail black shark

Hey everybody... I just got a small red tail black shark yesterday, today I saw him scratching with my aquarium wood, he did it twice... Is it normal? If not, what should I do..? (he doesn't do it too often)

Flashing (scratching) can be from a number of things. A parasitic infection, poor water conditions or fish fish is just itchy. Keep an eye on him and check that you don't have high ammonia, nitrite or nitrate. A change in water parameters (tank change) can cause a fish to flash also. Proper acclimating is essential.
