Bought Quikrete sand tonight - is this ok?

I went to Home Depot tonight and picked up a back of the Quikrete commercial grade sand (medium). I thought it would be white but it was the standard, neutral color.

It's also not fine grained like true sand, since I bought medium. It's more like tiny gravel.

Will this work like sand as far as maintenance? (pockets in the sand, etc) I guess since it's coarser than fine sand, it's more like pool filter sand - is that true?

have heard of people useing play sand and all kinds of other sand...i myself use quickcrete gravel.....just rinse rinse rinse rinse
