So this all started when Laeris made a trip about an hour or so North to pick up some tanks from Autumnsky. I figured we'd be putting one or more in storage until we had more room. Nope. I've been wanting to stand up a salt tank for a while and it just happened that it found a spot between the living room and dining room. It now resides there. It's been a work in progress for a while but has been photographed through almost every step.

I built and overflow for the corner that the pump is in and decided that the first of the two top compartments will be mechanical filtration. The second will be a rubble bin for pods to multiply in.

I have some hydor power heads and a wave controller along with the flow from the top box. I don't have a light yet but don't need it for a couple more weeks.

I will have 40 lbs of sand and roughly 50 lbs of Fiji pukani live rock. The live rock is currently curing in the tank with no sand. I put together a quick wall scape and think I might keep it this way. Lots of caves, coral shelves and places for critters to hang out and hide in.

I've rambled enough. Here are some photos. The water isn't clear yet but you'll get the idea.

It looks nice from what I can see. Is the egg crate rack (second pic) for storage or something until final placement?

It's a small frag rack that will stay. I know I'll be fragging down the road and have been left with no space for frags in the past so I made sure to give myself that space from day one.
