After coming back from reefapalooza I think I introduced some type of algae into my tank. I’ve had diatoms and cyano and this looks different from both but I could be mistaken. Any thoughts as to what it is and how to control it?
It's a brown hair algae. Nutrient issues in the water column. Manual removal during large water changes with ro/di water on top of weekly 10% routine water changes will take care of it. An algae that came in on a frag or something wouldn't take off that quickly most likely.
That is only making the ugly go away. It's telling you there are issues in the water column. It needs to be addressed as I stated above or it will only return or get worse.
