I'm going to take a picture today of the tank and the new features after I paint it!

Will add a pic today forgot to last night. I'm going to the store to get plants today any recommendations to plants I don't have already?

Here's the tank now. I've painted the back black and replanted trimmings. Also the "beneficial bacteria holder" for my filter is in the substrate at the moment. I've added an Anubis plant, water wisteria, and plant bulbs which two out of 5 are already sprouting. Also a snail that doesn't like my high ammonia levels :(

Going to trim dead/dying leaves and spread some of the plants out then trim and replant some. Do you suggest anything?

I think a nice piece of DW in front of the tank with a few plants around it would look real nice! That's what I plan on doing with my 26 gal!

I'm going to wait until my tank re cycles before I add driftwood!

The ph is what I'm worried about. About to test my water for everything here's after trimming:

What's your ph at? Driftwood can lower your ph but most fish ate very adaptable

I just did a 75% water change. When I changed substrate I kept my gravel in a bucket with dead plant leaves to keep the bb fed so I put a handful of gravel in a nylon sock and hung it on the side of the tank to help cycle it.

Water parameters:
Ph:7.2( after hanging bag of crushed sea shell to raise ph from 6)
Ammonia:8ppm(before 75% water change)
Nitrite: about .10-.15 ppm
Nitrate: about 2

Found out this morning the tank is leaking from Metal frame at the front:(

Think I may be buying a new tank sadly:/ but this does allow me to put a layer of dirt under my sand!! And while buying a new tank I can pick up other necessities I need for my tank! I can either repair this one after I buy a new tank or trade my biology teacher for a 5 or 10 gallon tank what should I do?

I'd personally just buy a new one

Why do my pictures look so different than yours is it because I'm using my phone or the glass in my aquarium or is it the lighting or because I have a hood on my fish tank? Look at the difference!

Here's a more recent pic of the tank. I took out the red Asian looking ornament and moved the swords. This is from about 2 weeks ago. Everything had grown a little more.

Might look different cause of lighting, angle, water clearness, ect. Not quite sure, :)

Whoops didn't mean to upload that 2nd picture !!! That's someone else's tank on this site and I like it so I screen captured it on my phone so I could show my parents lol.

Not a problem. Im going to buy the new tank today and when I go back to school I'm going to bring my broken tank to my biology teacher who said he would reseal it for me and he said I can take mine back after its fixed or take one of his 5 or 10 gallons. What should I do?

I'd water test it after he fixes yours and if it holds water, just take yours back
