Ok, so just be clear, you will absolutely, positively have 3 tanks? 1 40g for the breeding pair, 1 40g for something else, and a 15g for the fry? Are you able to return your second female, or put her in the other 40g?

change of plans so i went to the store and they wouldnt take the female back so i got another convict and its young and you cant tell male or female.... so if it turns female i will just keep them in the 40g with no breeding

3convicts might not work. They might fight... Even if they are all female
