cichlids tail missing

I'm not 100% positive but I would say yes, I've had many jewel cichlids and kenyii that have lost their tails, and they've always grown back, it helps if you make the water a little warmer, try to make it perfect conditions, and add a little salt to the water. With mine they grew back fairly quickly
 
This has happened to one of my yellow lab females, I have her in a hospital tank now and with clean water it is growing back.
 
Okay good. I liked him from the moment I saw him at the LFS. He had a curved spine (didnt know til later thats means a bad gene) thats what I was told. Anyways hes a bit shy compared to my others and they seem to pick on him. Hopefully his tail will grow back soon.
