Yeah I have a 10 gallon but that's my little brothers and he has fish in it

Get a tall glass and lean it on its side in the tank. Put some food in there and it'll come to eat. Then the long path of glass won't let your prey get out.

+1 on the glass. I've used panes of glass to confuse fish before
