Clown Loves Flower Pot - Help!!

Hi,

For quite a long time, my little clown was a loner in the tank not attaching himself to anything. Suddenly he took a liking to my flower pot and is using it as his friend. Unfortunately, my flower pot is not accepting his friendship and joking aside, keeps closing up every time my little guy swims through or rests on it. I am afraid that soon if this keeps up, he is going to kill my flower pot.

What can I do to stop this little guy from going there?

Either add something else it wants to use as a host or remove one or the other.
