I inherited a pair of breeding cichlids, one a the traditional black and white convict and the other a pink one. I've had them about a month. They had their first fry (since I got them) around two weeks ago. Most of the babies seem to be doing ok. But the mother died unexpectedly. Now I don't know what to do with them. I've read that convicts are know. For being good parents, but now that the mother died I don't know what to expect. Will the father be more likely to eat them? Do I need to attempt to move them or him? All I have to work with is a 5.5 gallon tank other than the 20 gallon they are already in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I would advise you to move the male just in case
