Damaged Endler Gonopodium?!

Hello,

I was watching my fish when I noticed one of my male endlers's (is this the right spelling?) gonopodium was hanging down at a weird angle and looking frayed. He has been behaving normally- I don't think he even noticed because he keeps chasing my females!

Do you know if his gonopodium will grow back? Should I be worried about this?

IDK if seen fins grow back but not had any experience with a gondopodum being damaged or growin back.
May be stearile.
