Just some regular ol'green and red monti frags. .... longtime followers may remember a year or two ago while vacationing in Hawaii I had a pump or two go down via a power outage that wiped out a couple of giant monti clusters that had grown from a couple of frags ,... I've always loved the capricornis so now it's time to try and reestablish another colony , hopefully they're take off like the originals ... as always fingers crossed

Congrats on the additions Dary. Got those new Hydras hooked up today (after some serious engineering on the mounting brackets). Love the look and programmability. Great bang for the $.

Well, I figured I better set up a qt tank if I'm thinking about getting a powder blue or whatever so,.. I remembered that years ago I had a aquaclear 110 filter that I had used ,... now I just had to find it !!! ,...whoa , found it in the pile of old aquarium parts ,... it was all there and working so I went ahead and ordered a set of filter pads thru marine depot for it and a small heater,..... I was just about to head down to petco to buy a 20-30 gal tank when I remembered again that I had a similar unit that I housed dart frogs in the past,...I located it,filled it full of water, added some vinegar and the aquaclear and it's been running along for about an hour or two with no leaks or issues ,.....nice having a scrap pile sometimes . :)

Powder blue tang owners please chime in !!!! .... my biggest issue that I see right now with adding a pb would be compatibility with the other inhabitants,.. I know a lot of you have multiple tangs living together without any issues but that's the one thing that's leaving me a little hesitant,...qt tank is being setup, I bought a isolation chamber that will slide into the main tank that would hold the PB at bay while the critters get to see each other for awhile ,..don't know if that'll help or not but seems logical ,...my main concern will be my scopace tang who is a sweetheart and has paired up with the new fox face as best friends, they're always cruising together now ,... any thoughts will be greaaaaaatly appreciated

I've never owned a tang so can't really help in that regard, but social acclimation boxes/isolation chambers do help introduction. Plus if there is apparent aggressive that doesn't go away after a while, the fish is already caught and ready to go back.

thats kinda what i was thinking too, cuz once i let him go into the main display tank you'll prob never be able to catch him again because of the mass amount of rocks in there,,,, qt tank up and running, had to exchange a faulty little thermometer yesterday that wasn't working the way it should have, added a large pvc elbow for hiding purposes, installed the filter pads to the aqua clear110,have old sponge and a couple of toss away rocks that have been in the sump forever for the bb purposes ,pretty much all systems go..... just gotta go down to the lfs and check out the pb that they have there ( beautiful, healhty and its been there now for a couple of weeks or so ).... its a three mile drive from work to get there but it seems like thousands now, lots to consider before pressing the button :-/:ermm:

So Dary, got the AI Hydra 26s programmed finally. Very happy with the look. Would have been easier if one of the lights wasn't in a wifi dead zone in the house. [emoji52].

Thanks Dary! The programming instructions for these lights should come with a disclaimer "Caution, may cause excessive swearing. Make sure women and young children are not in the room". Haha.

i know the feeling , last night i did my little bout of swearing too when i accidentally unplugged my mag 12 sump pump and when i plugged it back in it stuck and refused to pump water back into the dt,....it was quite a job trying to wrestle it out of there to try and get it working again,...granted this pump has been running 24/7 for the last 5-6 years or so without as being even looked at ,this was the one pump that i figured id have to replace soon anyway just for piece of mind, needless to say the pump and impeller was covered with crusty hard deposits that you'd need a chisel to scrape off ! it took me awhile to get it back up and running again, and that was after it sprayed a gusher of water all over the kitchen, bedroom and my dog" catfish charlie "..... i have a new mag 12 arriving via amazon today...also, i bought the powder blue tang yesterday ,he's in his qt , i'll try and post picture from my phone in a minute or two

Just got back from the lfs and talking things over with my buddy ,.. got some free food and advice regarding the powder blue and the QT tank,... tried feeding him a little while ago and it nibbled on some mysis and some pellets ,..nice to see that !!! I also got a couple of more coral frags too,... oh, and the new mag 12 was just delivered too,... thumbs up !!!

What kind of frags did you get?
just a frag of a branching montipora and a acropora ,.... bright green and a pinkish orange,...they also have a grafted duo neon colored montiapricornis that some day maybe i'll look at a little more closely :brows:..... its a little pricey but i'm sure id score a break there if i ever decide to go for it
