Sexy fish Dary. Big fan of Tangs here so hoping for the best for you. [emoji106]
thanks sean, it's a really a pretty fish and (so far) healthy too, i just needed something that would light up my tank and i think the powder blue would be just that fish,....of course there's always risks involved too so i'm trying to be a little extra cautious

So Dary, got the AI Hydra 26s programmed finally. Very happy with the look. Would have been easier if one of the lights wasn't in a wifi dead zone in the house. [emoji52].

Sean you can add a wifi extender to extend your signal to get that wifi in the dead spot working. I had to add one for a tv that is farthest away from my router. It did help the signal.

The lights have their own wifi. I just set up the one light through my phone and it's internal wifi instead of going through my router. The other two are through my router. Either way, it's all good at this point. [emoji16]

just a frag of a branching montipora and a acropora ,.... bright green and a pinkish orange,...they also have a grafted duo neon colored montiapricornis that some day maybe i'll look at a little more closely :brows:..... its a little pricey but i'm sure id score a break there if i ever decide to go for it

Can't wait to see them! I thought you where gonna pick up some zoas.... ?

They didn't have any cool zoa's on hand at the time ,... tried to get photo of the two new frags but the photos sucked ,.... maybe try another time

Minor little update,... yesterday I removed the old encrusted mag 12 and replaced it with the new one ,. I used the same original plumbing that I had on the old unit for a quick swap over but I also noticed that the old check valve wasn't closing like it should also due to being over run with the same hard deposits that were built up over time , I put the old pump in a five gallon bucket with a high concentration of white vinegar and water , she's been running flawlessly for the last 24 hours and now starts up every time after being unplugged and in any position ,..yea a victory ! I'll keep her running for awhile longer just to make sure it's really clean inside and out , I'll now have a potentially good backup pump ! :) ,... I'm going to use the old pump as a model and make up a new pvc extension with new ck valve , quick disconnect etc for a hopefully rapid change over for the new pump.
Qt'ing the powder blue tang is going good, I've been changing out some water every other day just to be on the safe side , I tried feeding some of the algae from my turf scrubber to him and the residents in the big tank as suggested by some here but I think they prefer the nori instead .

Paul ,.. my lfs had this beautiful zoa covered rock that must have a 150 polyps on it for an amazing price and then they knocked off another $10 just cuz they must like me or something :-/ .. it's not the Paul vibrant yellow zoa's , but it's. Pretty nice anyways ,...the picture was taken with the zoa rock being in the water for literally only a few minutes so you get the idea anyways , she's still opening up as we speak , that'll give me a nice base in which to build a Paul class zoa garden :)

Anytime you get a deal it's worth it. [emoji16]. I've spent so much at my LFS over the last 5 years that I don't pay full price for anything anymore. Took 5 frags of Sweet Tooth Chalice about the size of a quarter and got $150 in store credit. [emoji16]

Sweeeet !! It nice to have a lfs that takes care of you ! Makes you feel a little special

Nice looking Zoas Dary! That's a good slab of them too. They look like a type of "radioactive dragon eye" to me. I've had some that where a little on the yellow side on the skirt. Either way, those ought to pack a punch of brightness into the tank when the actinics are on. ?

My only recommendations:

Vary food sources.
Make sure there is enough lateral swimming room.
Make sure there are several holes (slots) in the rock for hiding and sleeping. PB are like Hippo tangs in the way they sleep and hide.

As you've heard me rant for years, it's all about lowering stress with surgeonfish. Mine are turning 15 years old soon. Lost my 10 year old sailfin tang from a swim bladder problem. Sad. But I rarely add any fish because of the fear of destabilizing the community.

Very nice zoas Dary. Yes they do look like radioactive dragons eye. That a nice bunch of them too.

Yes ,you and Paul hit it on the nose with the radioactive dragon eyes !!! ,...I just gotta find a couple of brightly colored little colonies to blend in with these,...my bright orange colony is on the other side of the tank and unfortunately, there's just no room there for these
