Tank: 65lt
Fish in cycling with 2 x Neons. 2 x Platys
Interpet pf2 power filter
Live and artificial plants
Feeding very little every other day

Day 25
Ammonia 0.5
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 25ppm
20lt water change

Day 26
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 0

Day 27
Ammonia 0.25-0.5
Nitrite 0
Someone said it maybe an idea to let my ammonia go up to 0.75 before I did a water change.
No water change done(sleepless night dreaming my fish where ghosts swimming around me)

Day 28
Ammonia 0.5
Nitrite 0
Even though my fish looked ok.
Sorry couldn't live with my self to let my fish cope with Ammonia above 0.5. So I did 20lt water change. Also cleaned the the filter intake a White sponge in tank water as I had noticed a drop in water pressure. This is also recommend by interpet

Day 29
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10ppm
Ph 7.6
Temp 24c

Seeing as my water source as nitrates at 32 ppm I would say the live plants are working to lower them and I have some bacteria growth In my substrate

Problem is I am getting a constant increase in ammonia and still no nitrite
I had nitrite reading between day 12- 19 of 0.25 - 0.5 and since then nothing on the nitrite level.
Would it be an good idea to remove the live plants to eliminate them from the equation.

Am going to see about getting some filter bacteria Tuesday.

Hi koz,
How's the cycling going?
And that's great If your plants are eating up the nitrates!

Been a constant 0.25 on the ammonia levels . No water change require for 3 days.
It looks like I may have been a bit premature when I posted about the ammonia increase.
Am looking at the levels 2-3 times daily and these are the reading for 8:30pm

Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 7-10ppm ish
Ph 7.6
Temp24c

Thanks for asking
