At least you have water !!! ,..out here in good ol sunny San Diego were under a severe drought condition and our water restrictions are rather harsh,... You can only water outside plants for a couple of minutes twice a week but they encourage you to let your yard and lawn dry up,... If you wanna wash your car you better do it under the cover of darkness !!! If there's any runoff on your driveway you better have a good lawyer ,..You feel guilty every time you take a shower or even flush the toilet !!!
You can imagine how one feels doing a pwc every week ,.. !!!

The only problem with Florida and Texas is you live with Floridians and Texans. ;-) Florida is nice in the winter but one of the bug capitals in America in summer. But they have a lot of water, theme parks and Texas has good bbq so I guess it evens out. Missouri, where I live, has pork, lots of water and the state bird, the mosquito.

I don't eat animal products, so the pork and bbq isn't a draw for me. You guys are worried about me killing a filefish and yet you condone the torture and gruesome slaughter of a much more intelligent creature?

I love almost all animals. But the smell of bacon in the morning....

But good news, we are pretty close to meat being produced on a 3D printer. Guilt free bacon at last!

Just some randoms from the majano infested tank at Anu Fitness Club (formerly Devon Fitness Club)-
This Confusa is probably close to 2 feet across now

Valida partially out of the water as I do my weekly 24 gallon water change (this tank runs solely on water changes)

Spongodes I added a few months ago-

I brake that Valida occasionally during tank maintenance, and I can't reach the bottom to pick these up, due to there not being any front access, but they seem to be growing just fine under the Chinese crapola LED panels that everyone downs-

Yes, and also good proof that you need to be able to access your entire tank if need be, not just small portions of it. If I could just get into the front for a couple hours I'd pull every kenya tree and do everything in my power to remove that carpet of majanos.

If I could redo one thing when I was putting my whole tank build together it would have been to pull it away from the wall another foot so I could actually squeeze behind it to work there,...originally I was trying to do just that but something went afoul and nothing short of a good ol California earthquake will remedy it now :-(

Retrospect is 20/20. When building a big reef, there should be as much planning as possible as making changes afterwards is almost impossible.

Douglas ,...so how was your trip ? I know your drank a lot of that local grog and that may have some adverse side effects so I must ask ,,so are you married now ? ...... Did you guys get to go snorkeling or diving ?

The powder blue is quite territorial. He does force the sailfin to lose out on a meal from time to time, but so far it hasn't been unbearable. If I had it over again, I would have substituted him for a hippo.
Our trip was good. We made it good, but If I sat there and focused on every thing that was not to my standards, I could say it sort of sucked.

Here is my review of the resort, which I posted on Trip Advisor:

Yes, that's a 30 year old sea lion we are getting kissed by. It was quite gross, but very cool at the same time. It could have bit off our heads with ease. Imagine a giant, slobbery dog with fish breath, groaning in your ear as it leaned towards you and made contact with your face.
No scuba on this trip...just snorkeling and the dolphin thing.
