When I bought my first 3 foot tank, the employee at the lfs upsold me on an eheim 2215 for $190, and told me he has the same one running on a bigger tank and only has to clean it once a year, so I should be able to get away with cleaning mine once every 2 years! Yeah.... Well that tank is also a 1500l/hr canister and I clean them on alternate MONTHS. he is also a fan of 10% pwc per month.

Hey I've done this! And we exhale mostly oxygen again how do you think CPR works?

Well to be exact the air we breath in has on average 21% oxygen and what we breath out has higher CO2 however the oxygen is between 14-18%. So still plenty of O2

I blow air into the bags if I need to. I've done it to transfer my fish to a friend's house. But NEVER for a shipping or long car ride!

Walked into (un-named cheap grocery store who happens to sell fish) the other day and actually saw some quarentine signs on their tanks. It was a weird sight. But then I saw the goldfish in a bag who'd been sitting at customer service as a return for 5hours....

Hahaha met someone at a party yesterday (our local music festival) who has a tank. Ummm ugh. He has a "35 gallon or something" and he told me he doses his prime to 50 gallons just to be safe. And he also has three platys and one tetra (he doesn't know the kind) and won't add anymore fish because he thinks he's overstocked as it is.

I told him all the fish I had in my tank he flipped and told me petsmart told him an angel needs at least 50 gallons per fish. Even at quarter size.
I was like geez at least petsmart isn't overstocking others but wow to avoid a sale like that is crazy.
I have 5 angels in a 55 and they're all very healthy all silver dollar sized with 10 red eye tetras, a couple mollies, a couple catfish, some snails, and a Cory and they're all doing wonderfully
I feel bad for that poor guy's tetra
At least they all have their tank space to roam, but the tetra is gonna get so lonely and would prefer less space to roam and more buddies.

O___O. He'd probably KILL me if he found out that I have 2 platy in a 10g. I would love to have a 35g, I don't see how it would look overstocked, unless it's waaaay less than that. Maybe you should've said to get a bigger tank then, for a school of tetra lol
I seriously wanna meet people that have a tank now, IRL. But that would be awkward for me, because I'm shy when it comes down to it.

Customer jus bought tank it is on her shopping wagon Fish specialist to customer how big is your aquarium: customer 15g specialist: ok here are a list of fish that are suitable for your tank oscars, 100 neons, 6 plecos the list goes on here is the equipment you need sand and decor. Customer what about a filter: fish specialist oh all you don't need a filter or hood because fish will jump above the water to breathe and if you don't over feed there will never be any ammonia nitrite trAtes because nothing decays and your pleco will eat the poop. At that moment I am steaming and want to step in and give this " expert" a piece of my mind but I didn't and the lady walks out with 1 Oscar 1 fancy koi 10 guppes and 20 neons.

Well I tried to tell the lady that it wasn't I good idea but the "expert was intimidating and I am only 14" so I really thought if I tried to talk to him I was either going to get yelled at or he would just laugh in my face

Ah yes the old "you're too young to know what you're talking about" stereotype. I remember how that felt. People don't want to listen to older people either. For the most part they only want to hear what they want to hear. Sad really. For those people I suggest a quick google search if they doubt what I'm saying. And as for the employees, I'm not really concerned with their opinion of me. I became friends with their bosses so now they have to listen! Or at least pretend to
