Sadly I know people who would do that
my sister is in the process up upgrading her tank to a 55 shes very new at it and im helping her a lot but she was at a chain lfs and they were looking at the filters. one of the employees was trying to tell her that if she bought this 200$ canister filter she could put twice as many fish in! she asked me and i said no they are trying to get you to spend money
lol all you have to do is blow bubbles every fifteen minutes!!!
Especially the "every 15 minutes" part... Better not have anything to do all day every day! You are now a vital piece of aquarium equipment.
That's as bad as people who say to blow into shipping / transport bags to inflate them. I guess some people just don't stop to think that we breathe oxygen in and exhale carbon dioxide.
Hahaha met someone at a party yesterday (our local music festival) who has a tank. Ummm ugh. He has a "35 gallon or something" and he told me he doses his prime to 50 gallons just to be safe. And he also has three platys and one tetra (he doesn't know the kind) and won't add anymore fish because he thinks he's overstocked as it is. :/ I told him all the fish I had in my tank he flipped and told me petsmart told him an angel needs at least 50 gallons per fish. Even at quarter size. I was like geez at least petsmart isn't overstocking others but wow to avoid a sale like that is crazy. I have 5 angels in a 55 and they're all very healthy all silver dollar sized with 10 red eye tetras, a couple mollies, a couple catfish, some snails, and a Cory and they're all doing wonderfully I feel bad for that poor guy's tetra At least they all have their tank space to roam, but the tetra is gonna get so lonely and would prefer less space to roam and more buddies.
Customer jus bought tank it is on her shopping wagon Fish specialist to customer how big is your aquarium: customer 15g specialist: ok here are a list of fish that are suitable for your tank oscars, 100 neons, 6 plecos the list goes on here is the equipment you need sand and decor. Customer what about a filter: fish specialist oh all you don't need a filter or hood because fish will jump above the water to breathe and if you don't over feed there will never be any ammonia nitrite trAtes because nothing decays and your pleco will eat the poop. At that moment I am steaming and want to step in and give this " expert" a piece of my mind but I didn't and the lady walks out with 1 Oscar 1 fancy koi 10 guppes and 20 neons.

Ugh I know what you mean. People with intimidating builds SCARE ME!! I've avoided buying fish from a store before just to avoid talking to the employee
Im one of these intimidators! Im 6ft0in weigh in at 265lbs and have around 12% body fat. I walk with my head held high and no one ever seems to have a problem with me?
Well you're still on my good side, you haven't given me a scary look yet
Well I tried to tell the lady that it wasn't I good idea but the "expert was intimidating and I am only 14" so I really thought if I tried to talk to him I was either going to get yelled at or he would just laugh in my face
