Filtration

I have an 85g tank long and I wanted to see what type of filtration I would need for my cichlid tank.

African. And mostly peacock. I have 3 peacock 1 yellow lab and not 100% what the other one is called.

But right now I have 2 bio wheel 280 emperor power filters.

I used to have my mbunas in a tank with an aquatech 30-60 (a long time ago). I get much better filtration and water quality with the marineland C-360 canister filter. Much much better.

Maybe an emporer 400 added with a 280, or a couple aquaclear 110's.
canisters could be a fluval 405 with a hob,ehiem 2217, or a fluval fx5.

Oh ok ok I'm trying to see what would be best / affordable and what else would I need. Think of it as starting from scratch

I have an emporer 400 on my 40 gallon and i really like it.
2 would be good for a 80 gallon.
2 aquaclear 110s would work.
Alot of people have a canister filter and a hob filter.
Ive heard nothing but goosdthings from ehiem products, so the 2217, and one of ur 280's or a emporer 400, or an aquaclear 110 would be a great combination.
Alot of people like fluval products also. Maybe a 405,or a 406 with a hob filter would be good too.

I think I'll try to go with the fluval 405 or 406.
Just need to muster up some quick cash

eBay 405 for $115 and free shipping. LoL I just wrote this on another post! Don't pay LFS prices!

I think the fluval 406 is a good choice. I have a 206 on my 18g tank and I'm very satisfied. I would get a 406 if I had a need.
