Well, sump is now glued and sitting in the garage until the silicone is all set and done. In a few days I will add some water to it and see how it'll do LOL

Never really done a DIY anything so it was interesting to do, but oh boy whatta pain in the butt LOL the silicone was messy and I think I killed some brain cells with the fumes :)

Sooooo hope it'll work out =O.O=

Hey, looks pretty good though. :) As long as it works whats a few lost brain cells? LOL

It's not like I used those for anything good anyways ROFL
Well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed ;)

I'm working the next tree nights and will be going to Alabama for the weekend. Guess that should be plenty for the tank to "dry"

Working TREE nights??? Guess that is evidence of the killing of the brain cells huh? ROTF.

LOL Guess I didn't catch that one when I was spell-check-reading that

ok, I ordered the base rock just a few minutes ago from Reef Cleaners
Ordered 100lb
The aquascaping I decided on is gonna look like 2 mountains coming down from the sides, meeting somewhat in the middle in a valley. Of course it's gonna be somewhat to the side to make it more interesting...
I'm so excited, cant wait to rinse the stones and soak em for a while
How long should I soak them for?

Also, I'm wondering how long should the tank be cycled for when I want to add macroalgae to my fuge? The Chaeto comes with pods and I do not want them to die due to cycling

Wrote a specific Macroalgae to ReefCleaners conerning my selections of algae, lets see what they have to say ;)

The stones arrived today, 4 days after ordering :)
The are good except for one big flat one that I prolly need to break because I have no use for any flats >.<

Also started to work on some of the pluming... It's a big learning curve but I'm getting there. Anxious to get it all over with so I can get started with my aquaplaning ;b

I wouldn't break the big flat one up yet.If you are doing reef it will be great for placing corals and giving overhang area for like sun polps.

Nit doing it until maybe last second, but when putting the stones together there was no use for that stone at all except maybe for a base

PVC pipes have been glued with primer and cement :)
They are sitting in the garage now and drying. Working for the next three nights so they got PLENTY of drying time. Hope on Sunday we will be able to transfer everything to the living room so I can finalize everything!

Today we finally got the tank moved into our living room :) Our neighbor had to help because 110lb me was completely incapable of lifting that monster LOL
Once inside I clean the tank and we placed the sump inside the stand which was another ordeal because the sump was too big and we had to do alot of readjusting and putting together afterwards
BUT all in all it looks AWESOME!
Tomorrow is sand and stone cleaning time and placing the guts inside the tank... Yeah!!

Ok, two days ago I started the aquaplaning and am fairly happy with the result. Oh boy was that a pain LOL
But I like it. It doesnt look half as good in the picture, and more details will be added once sand and water is in.

Also I added sand to the tank (not in pic) but somehow I miscalculated and ~2 inches are still missing *hmpffff*...working for the next few nights, so u will have to add more this coming weekend

Bit by bit it is coming together, getting more and more exciting :)

Well, the tank is ready to go
-sand washed
-sand added
-water filled

And what is, the sump return is mega loud like a Jacuzzi :,(
Also the tank now turned super milky even though I rinsed the heck out of that sand

Oh well, will work on the pluming some more tomorrow and get some carbon to hopefully help with the fat-free milk look in my tank

If anybody has any tips on how to fix loud noises in sump-intake part, I welcome anything
My guess is that it's taking in too much air
Gonna try smaller holes on the end-cap on the overflow pipe

ON A HAPPIER NOTE: I checked if my sump can handle a poweroutage and if it would overflow... IT WORKED GREAT! siphon break did it's job and sump was able to handle the back flow... At least something worked LOL

Had to turn off the pluming as it was too loud for me to handle >.< so maybe it settled some in the am

Thx :)
If been doing aquariums for years, but this the first time I'm daring to build something myself and larger than ever... I expected mishaps and bumps along the road but it's getting frustrating after a while :,(
Tomorrow is a new day (obviously I can't sleep LOL) so maybe I can fix some issues
