And my order of Dwarf Water Lettuce came in. LFS around here doesn't sell floating plants :/ but I can't wait to see how big they get.

Okay so decided against the Oscar. Tank maintenance vs time management plus water bill from my mom for all the water changes SOOOOOO....

Okay so after some YouTube videos and reading I've sided more on the Peacocks/HAPS side rather than Mbuna's. I'm one of those that wants to come home from work and see my beautiful fish rather than search for them in holes.

Heres a list of ones I've taken Interest in just from photos. I'll do more research on sizes tommorow. Any comments or compatibility problems let me know but as far as I've seen Haps and peacocks work well together.

Peacocks

Flavescent Peacock

FireFish Peacock

Lemon Jake Peacock

Sunshine Peacock

Eureka Red Jake

HAPS

Blue dolphin(prob not b/c of size)

Black Fin Lethrinops

Insignus

Lethrinops Intermedius

Livingstoneii

Super Red Empress

Ivory Mloto

Like I said I'll gets sizes tommorow and narrow down how many I can fit in my tank while still having suitable filtration and tank space.

Great thread. Following and your doing a great job.

Current stock:
1 dojo loach taken from my 45g

Want to add:
1 more dojo loach to give him a buddy. Will my larger one bully a new one?
1 angelfish
1 pearl or opaline gourami
5 Boesemans Rainbowfish
5 cherry barbs

That's it so far. I still got some room left.

If you saw my other thread, I was having a really hard time deciding whether to still get cichlids after seeing my plants grow and flourish. I finally decided i didn't want to take the chance of cichlids tearing them up and went against them for the safety of my plants and spending a good amount on a light to grow plants.

I really love the Rainbowfish but they are so expensive because it's hard to find them around here ? they run anywhere from $7-$10 each.

I've also heard of angels pairing up to be bullies.

And 2 gourami's isn't a good idea unless breeding from what I have read.

EDIT: I also was looking at a pair of keyhole Cichlids. I read in another thread they are usually okay with plants and are good for community aquariums.

Any other fish suggestions Brook?

My lone dojo loach. He really is loving all the swimming space and the rocks for him to explore. Likes to plants too I saw him nibble on one.

Sorry for the large amount of quick posts I have to go to work in a minute.

I want to do a black background and never really considered them until recently because I got all these lines on the back of the tank from co2, filters, heaters, cords. I won't want to see them because this is my display tank.

What would be the best way to come about a black background? I was thinking fabric and tape it with clear shipping tape (not the neatest but simple) at the top and maybe on the bottom.

They are all loving their new home. Barbs were added last night and 1 is hiding in a rock. Figure it's just taking time for him/her to adjust. Rest swim around very lively :)
