First time journal

Had a friend buy my old stock from my 30g and I cleaned and broke it down today and reset it up



Water is still a little cloudy from the sand when I filled it

I am planning on taking my first attempt into cichlids of some sort and I figured I would keep a journal of the progress on here(never done a tank journal before but my high school marine biology teacher suggested I do one on a forum somewhere so here I am)

Any suggestions or advice is appreciated as always

Cichlids are really pretty but can get pretty aggressive. Do lots of research and don't overstock too heavily. A 30g isn't that big and cichlids can get pretty big.

I have read that there are some smaller west African river ones I forget their names that would be ok for the 30g the more I read the more I get discouraged by trying them though
