Getting started with LED? 10 gallon

Hey guys,

I am redecorating my ten gallon and I wanted to get started with LED lighting. I have the ten gallon and a generic hood with a 14w fluorescent light. Whats the cheapest way I can get LED lightning and apply it to my tank? I like the shimmer effect!

Building an LED fixture is the cheapest way to go if you're comfortable with it.

Are you trying to grow plants? If so, high-power LEDs are the way to go. I posted a thread in the DIY section on the fixture I built.

If you're not trying to grow plants, an LED array from eBay would probably create the shimmer effect.
