hey all,

Over the weekend my GH went from 8 to 13. the only thing I have started to do differently is dosing seachem flourish.

My params before the weekend were:

pH 7.4
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5
GH 8
KH 5

My parameters yesterday and today were
pH 7.4
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5
GH 13
KH 5

Seachem Flourish has both Ca & Mg, so that would increase your GH. but it is only like 0.1% of each, so you would ahve to dose quite a bit to get an increase of 5 degree GH.

How much are you adding? & tank water volume?

Also, what test kit are you using ... some (stripes esp.) aren't that accurate.

i have a 10 gal with ~3wpg, aquaclear 30.

I am dosing what the bottle says "divide the number of gallons by 40 to obtain exact dose in MmL"

so 4 mL.

I am just going to do a bigger water change and then small water changes every other day to see where it will equalize.

Yeah, and I see that too. I dosed 1/4 mL. just a drop or two, a day apart.

my bad *slaps forehead*
