Please anybody correct if I'm totally wrong about this but I'm pretty sure that they can be with other fish that are too big for him to eat and peaceful to where it won't bother him. The Barbeled leaf's mouth is huge compared to its body size so I would suggest fish that are just as big as him but being this is a 30 gallon your tank is going to get full very fast. He needs a heavily planted tank so that he can feel secure hiding with its natural camouflage and so that he can stalk his prey as he is a predator.

First off If you are going to get this fish I recommend that he be the only fish in the tank.
Sorry I told you that you can put other fish in but his mouth is BIG so I say go safe and let him be by himself.
He is probably only going to accept live food.
Stay away from feeder fish unless you raise them yourself as store bought feeder fish may contain parasites and other health concerns.
You can feed him:
Store bought earthworms
Store bought crickets
Brine shrimp, mosquito larvae, daphnia, or bloodworms.
Maybe even houseflies.

I looked up that video of a parrot fish and 3 angels in a30 gallon tank on you tube and it looked sweet. Haha is that legal

Puffers are sweet but the only one I can get is the dwarf puffer and they are crazy small
