So I've started seeing these tiny snails lately, not in crazy numbers, but enough that I notice them, mainly on the glass. But tonight I was looking at the tank with an LED flashlight and noticed something.. There are literally hundreds of these tiny little snails, ALL over my rocks.

What are these little guys? I'm guessing they're pests.. How can I get rid of them? Or do I even need to?

Thanks!

I don't know about getting rid of them, but they are good cleaners. Maybe you should start collecting them of of the glass and just thin them out.

I just realized you are talking about a reef saltwater aquarium. I don't know a thing about saltwater so disregard my comment. I don't want you to get anything killed because of me.

I have some too and have been trying to get a good picture before I asked but it looks like you beat me to it. I'm hoping they are good and are just gonna clean my rock and stay small but ill wait to see if anyone knows.

IMO I would remove some out of your tank. The more snails you have the more polluted your water will get.

Its kind of hard to see from the picture. Google stomatella snails and see if they fit the description. They multiple like crazy in my tank but they are actually a good part of a CUC to have.

Its not a stomatella, I have one of those, these are real small..
