I figured out why my skimmer is so loud.... But need help!

I put silicone feet on my OTP-3000 and it makes a very small him which I'm fine with. But after about 2 minutes it start making a grinding sound. When I cover the air intake with my finger, it stops. When I take my finger off, it starts again, so obviously it's the air. I have the stock air muffler that they send with the skimmer. What the heck can I do????? I have it off now because it's so loud.

Does your pump sit inside the body of the skimmer?

It's outside the skimmer. Connected by a union.

O ok . I had the same issue cover the vent holes and it's quiet but my pump is inside . I just had to slide the bracket around the pump back an inch. No clue what's up with yours though .

Any ideas I might try? It almost sounds like its running dry even when it's underwater......

Anybody know??? I want to run it cuz it does a great job skimming but it won't shut up!!

I have the same problem on my octo nwb150. Mine is soo loud too and everyone in the house its getting ticked off. I don't know what do to either. Hopefully some experts will say somthing

I think it may be the OTP line of pumps. Maybe in a couple months or something I could get a bubble blaster!!!
