Ideas/planting help?

I don't wAnt to jump in without being educated but I like the idea of having a planted tank, and some of the fish I jobs prefer live plants. I don't want high maintenance or to add anything fancy or expensive. I have a 15 gallon hexagon. Suggestions?

A good start is some of the 'unkillable' type stuff like java ferns and anubias. They don't require special lighting, and can often get by on what the tank provides naturally, fertilizer wise.
