Is this light fixture good? Good for coral?

48" 260w Pl Aquarium Light Reef Marine Fish Tank Hood Light

I BOUGHT THIS LIGHT FOR MY FOWLR 90G TANK AND HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR SOME TIME, BUT WOULD LIKE TO START GETTING INTO CORAL, SO I WAS WONDERING IF THIS FIXTURE IS SUFFICIENT?

That light should allow you to keep most easy corals and some LPS coral as well, in my opinion.

I have one similar to this and kept an acropora frag under it. It was high in the tank though. It kept color and grew for 2 months until I moved it to my other tank.

@ slitherbomb- will coral do well near the bottom?
and which kind would b good for a begginer like myself?

That's a PC fixture and only 4 bulbs over a 90g tank. That's enough to keep LPS at the top but not enough for SPS. I recommend getting a 4 bulb t5ho and use them together for best results. Then you can grow SPS and clams

As far as beginner corals try some zooanthids, mushrooms and maybe a leather. LPS are things like torches and hammer corals. Those should do ok as long as they are placed well.
