Just got 8 neon tetras

I love neons. I had many when I was younger. They were a joy to watch.

That's my old tank. It was a shrimp tank. I had fun with it but didn't know anything at all about fish and listened to my LFS for everything. Soon after they all died

I'm new to this whole fish hobby but I think it would all depend on size of your tank and how well you maintain it. I had like 12!

Do youth guys neons lose color at night when the tank lights are off?

It's normal for them to switch off their colors when the lights are out. They'll become colorful again 5 to 10 minutes after you've switched your light on. But if they stay dull during the day, they might be sick or worse, have neon tetra disease.

It may have been a weak fish, how far are you from the store?

How did you intro them to the tank?

Hmmm, did you notice if there was any "bickering" between em?

Possible it was bullied death but unlikely
