Kelsey's new pico :D

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I haven't seen anything like that, you should ask what the brand is next time your in. The light is going to stay where it is in the third picture more or less. I can't move it any closer (bleaching corals might be an issue). Light is still not in btw :(, hopefully it shows up soon!

Sorry to intrude on the thread... but I was reading through and saw this. Was it an AZOO palm? I have used them on my nano tanks, and it is a good little filter, and inexpensive.

Power Filter for Small & Desktop Aquariums: Azoo Palm Filter

AZOO also makes a slightly larger model with a built in skimmer, that looks interesting, though I have never used it...

Azoo Mignon Skimmer Hang On Back Power Filter on eBay!

That is a really neat filter, love the one with a skimmer! I'll have to look into that, I wonder if my little heater will fit in it.

How is everything? Any new additions or anything? Pictures will suffice for your absense. ;)

I'm back!! I was in Vegas for 5 days and then today was my first day of work. I will be spending all night uploading new pictures I'm sure for both my tank and Vegas haha. My brother picked up some live rock while I was gone but I haven't had a chance yet to look at it. I also picked some nice pieces up today so I'll have lots to chose from for the pico. I'll take some pictures of the new rock right away.

So here are the two that my brother got

one for my tank

and one for his (it's actually a lot larger than the one for my tank)

Thanks hopefully it isn't too bad!

Okay so I tried out the rocks I bought and rock #2 is too tall for the tank, rock #3 is too short but may still be considered, and rock #1 is currently in the tank. I found life on it already : ) A small brown chiton and a pretty large (in diameter) hard skeleton tube with some sort of white worm in it.

I posted the wrong thing

What was the right thing?? lol

I did some tests on the pico tonight and got all zeros again (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate). I added some extra sinking pellets so I'll check again tomorrow (don't have any raw shrimp). Maybe I won't get much of a cycle since the tank has been seeded with the rock I took from our large tank.

I like your thread so much I am going to buy a fluval chi next week. I can't start building it until after I finish the 220, but I am actually excited about the prospect of building one of these things.

I just checked out your profile, that 260 is beautiful! All of the setups that you have are exceptionally nice.

lol, thanks. Your thread has inspired me. Besides I think it would almost provide a comedy factor in my living room. A huge living oxymoron, a 220 gallon reef next to a pico reef. I would have to at least smile each time I walked past them.

Good to hear you like my thread :)

That would be a pretty awesome sight haha I'm picturing it now.

I would use it like punishment for the fish in the 220, lol. BEHAVE OR YOU WILL GO IN THE PICO!!!

I know there are no fish that you can keep in the pico, I see some small reefs with corals, but what about an anemone?

That I'm loving what you are doing :D Keep doing the updates. I'm thinking about getting this little rimless tank too. I saw it at the store and I like how it looks with the waterfall kinda thing on top.
