I noticed this on the first day I got them...a week ago yesterday....that they were eating some of my hair algae. I had to do a double, tripple and quadruple take! I thought I must be seeing things, but repeatedly I see them snacking on it, and it's confirmed by their waste coming out with a strong gree hue to it....

anyone else see or know of anything like this?

Wow, I had no idea they would do that. Sounds like good news for you though! :D

I have seen plently of african cichlids eat algae off of plants in my buddy's 75. They seem to always be hungry.

This is good news for me! They don't make a meal out of it like the flagfish did, but it's great that I can give them that added nutrition! lol
