Lighting effectiveness

I have a 25G that is 24"L x 13"W x 19"H and right now it has a 24" 28W dual T5 fixture with one 6700k bulb and one colormax bulb. To me this light seems a little dim and my java fern are not really growing they are not dieing but not growing either. I was wondering if I swapped out the colormax bulb it came with with another 6700k bulb if it would brighten up some or if I need to buy a 2nd light fixture?

Honestly idk how controversial this is but I'm using a purple plus bulb with a 6700k on my 55gl tank and new leaves sprout up all the time.... Just some food for thought

if you have two 28watts of t5, it may be better!

Yeah I was actually thinking about getting a marineland led fixture to go with what I have now.

Be careful with them unless u just want it for looks the reef/plant ones basically turn to garbage after a year
