My recently setup shrimp tank has a major algae problem. It is a 10 g and was cycled with filter media from mature tank. No ferts have been added to tank and water changes are regular. There are two types of algae, a green bushy one and a brown stringy one. The green algae, as seen in picture, Is growing on top of Taiwan moss. I don't think nitrates are the problem because no fish or fish food has been in tank. The problem was when I acquired my new led light which is a 3w led and is very strong. The light is run for around 7 hours daily. I have manually removed algae on multiple occasions but this proves insufficient. What should I do to exterminate this algae and prevent it from growing back?
