I read cherry shrimp molt every 4-8 weeks but I only have 5 and I get new shells every few days. Is this a sign that something is off?

Mine molt roughly once a week saltwater(peppermints) and freshwater. I wouldn't worry about it.

You can test parameters just in case.

Adult shrimp might moult every 5-8 weeks but growing juveniles moult more regularly. My shrimp also moult more often because they are at 26C/79f, possible a bit warm which raises their metabolism. I don't believe that they live as long but they breed prolifically. They are in a community tank and I want my fish at that temp. I never expected my shrimp (red cherry) shrimp to take over like they have.

I've discovered part of the problem may be that some of the shrimp are infected with ellobiopsidae. I can't find much conclusive info on this parasite. Some sites say it's a Protozoa and some say Protist. Anyone with experience with this?
