Hi there. I'd like to move my 6 inch long, probably 2 year old sailfin pleco from my 36 gallon tank to my 72 gallon tank.

In that tank I have 5 bosemanis and 5 penguin fish. It is one year established. I use a fluval FX5 and the tank is significantly understocked. I know that plecos are filthy dirty but my 72 gallon also has an algae problem so on the flip side, it would be beneficial.

Any advice on moving that large of a fish to an established tank without totally destroying the parameters?

Thanks!

Janelle

If you biofilter is already well established, it should adapt very rapidly. Maybe a minor spike at first, but it should self-compensate.
