My New 29 Gallon Oceanic Biocube

Ok so I deicided to sell my 55 gallon tank because i would much rather have a SW tank with coral and everything. So I got a used 29G Oceanic Biocube, 10 lbs. live rock, and 20 lbs. aragonite live sand. I also bought from this really good LFS that i discovered 29 gallons of well established salt water and some RO/DI water for cleaning. Everythings all set up and th sand is settling. Anyways just wanted to let you guys know whats goin on with me

Because the biocube comes with everything i need for SW built in and takes a lot less work than the 55 and looks better and i like it more.

Did you just put fish in the tank a few days after setting it up? You didn't cycle? I'd for sure watch your parameters, you very likely will have a spike in ammonia and nitrite.

The "used" water does nothing for cycling your tank. :-(

The live rock alone could produce a spike.

I put the fishy in yesterday but I checked the parameters and they are 0 ammonia 0 nitrites and .20 nitrates

Hahaha ya I guess unless it dies I'm not sure what it is though. It is kind of clear and white and has tentacles it might be an anemone. Idk

Sorry, just joking. I am all tapped out. Had to think long and hard before I orderred my $87.00 RO/DI unit with a few add ons. Besides, if I upgrade, I am goin 150 Gal at least. My entertainment center would fit that just about perfect. Then I will turn my 45 into a sump. See how additcting this is? I have ony been in it for 4 weeks, have just now added my first 2 fish and I already have my upgrade all planned out. hehehehehe

Haha I know what you mean. I pretty much have my 15G Nano and 75G planned out and I don't plan on getting them for a while.

Did you temp acclimate the fish, or did you drip it? Make sure you drip the fish, not like fw. A total different ball game here on the dark side. Lol..

Haha ok I figured you were just checking and ya I know how addicting it is I got 3 tanks in the first couple weeks of fish keeping so I'm selling my 55 for money for stuff for my biocube haha

I did both....floated him then dripped him
