Adding water. Liner adjustments to get it into final position will be made as it fills.

I've learned A LOT building this pond. The next one will definitely be above ground, but I'm committed to finishing this monster now. It's almost full! I'm back filling behind the stones under the liner to bring the dirt up to their level. I should have dug into the ground to accomplish this, but it's too late for that now!

It is as full as it will be. It isn't level in one spot so my idea about hiding the liner is useless. The liner will get covered with number 2 gravel and field stone will cover the pavers to work it all in.

As with everything one does for the first time, hindsight is 20/20. We've all "been there, done that " But now you know and have the experience and if you ever do decide to do it again below ground, you know what NOT to do. ;) (y)
Can't wait to see it finished. (y)

Been waiting 4.5 months to see this filled. Congrats!
You might as well overfill it to see where the low spots are and where the water goes after it seeps past the rocks. Because this is going to happen after a big storm. I have a small pond near my house and it has a low point that drains water AWAY from the house.

I know where the low spot is. It's where I didn't come back and finish leveling it. It just means I'll have the top of the liner visible which isn't a huge deal, but I wanted to try and keep it hidden.
